We-Ta-Se Honors PBPN Veterans at Ceremony in Prairie Peoples Park

We-Ta-Se veterans gathered today to remember Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation veterans in a Reading of the Names ceremony held at Prairie Peoples Park.  Nine veterans were added to the wall this year for a total count of 398 veterans overall.

PBPN chairman and We-Ta-Se veteran Steve Ortiz read the names of the veterans added to the wall.  They include Holly A. Johnson (Iraq), William Battese (WWII), Daniel Gonzales (Vietnam), Duane Hubbard (Desert Storm), Charles Jacobson (Vietnam), Raymond McDonald (National Guard), Robert McDonald (Navy), Thomas McDonald (Desert Storm), and Theresa D. Sweet (U.S. Army).

Larry Mzhickteno.(in purple shirt) gave the invocation at the ceremony.  Larry is also a Gaming Commissioner for the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.

Chuck Jacobson with his wife, Dee. Chuck served in Vietnam and his name was added to the PBPN veterans wall this year.
