The Firekeepers Elder Center is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The program provides a place for the community elders to come together for a variety of activities. They have access to a game room with pool tables, a craft room, a sitting room for visiting one another and tv watching, access to gym equipment, yearly garden and other scheduled activities. Each summer the program coordinates a trip for the Elders to the annual Potawatomi Gathering.
Each day the staff prepares a nutritious meal and serves approximately 120 lunches from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. Meal delivery is also available to home-bound seniors on the reservation. Each month a special birthday meal is prepared to celebrate senior birthdays.
The Tribal Emergency Services also provides free blood pressure and sugar level checks starting at 11:15 a.m.
