Hattie Mitchell and Lance Wahquahboshkuk were photographed fashioning t-shirts that were given to the first 100 registered participants who donated $25 last Sunday at the Walk for Hope event. The artwork on the shirts were designed by Maylee Wahquahboshkuk and Alexandra Potts who are young tribal members.
MAYETTA: The Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation teamed up with 94.5 Country Radio from Topeka last Sunday at Prairie Peoples Park for the Walk For Hope event. Registration began at 10 a.m. with opening ceremonies that began at 11:30 a.m. A 5K walk began at noon that was followed by a musical performance by Morgan Frasier.
Hattie Mitchell, Tribal Council treasurer, told the News that 17 departments and programs from the PBPN pitched in to help. The event was covered by WIBW-TV 13 last Sunday.
