Wahwasuck Swearing In Ceremony

PBP NATION – Monday, November 13, 2017, Arlene Shipshee Wahwasuck is sworn into the elected position of Ethics Commission Chairperson. PBPN Tribal Council Chairwoman Liana Onnen officiated the event held at the Old Bingo Hall.

The Ethics Commission Chairperson position came up for re-election after Burton Warrington resigned the position in May 2017. Warrington had won during the July 2016 election. Wahwasuck will serve the remainder of the term until July 2019. Ethics terms run for three years.

The Ethics Commission now has all positions filled. The Ethics Commission consists of the following six members:

Arlene Wahwasuck – Chairperson

Rencie Eteeyan – Vice Chairperson

Kassie James – Secretary

Gil Aitkens – Commissioner #1

Blake Garrison – Commissioner #2

Laura Rice – Commissioner #3

The purpose of the Ethics Commission is “to address the ethical behavior of elected and appointed officials of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation,” as stated in the Code of Ethics.
