Three Candidates File for Ethics Commission Election

MAYETTA:  Three candidates have filed for three of the six seats in the Ethics Commission Election that will be held July 25. Candidates filed from April 16 until April 30.

Mamie Rupnicki has filed for chairperson, Rencie Eteeyan for vice-chairperson, and Kassie James for secretary.  There were no candidates for Commissioner #1, #2 or #3.   Candidates have until May 8 to withdraw.

Tribal members who are 18 years and older by May 20 still have time to register to vote in the mail-in ballot election if they have not already done so.  Registration can be done in the Member Services Department located on the lower level of the Government Center.

Ballots will be mailed on June 10 and must be returned in the pre-addressed return envelope per the instructions.  Ballots must be returned to the Mayetta Post Office by 9 a.m. on July 25 and will be counted in an open meeting of the tribal membership.

The Election Committee is Sara Gartenmayer, chairperson, Arlene Lingo and Sherri Landis.
