2015 Potawatomi Cup Grows to Five Events and $50,000

Symetra Tour professionals will have chance to win a combined total of $50,000 

over the course of five events sponsored by Potawatomi nation tribes

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., May 26, 2015 – The Symetra Tour, Road to the LPGA, announced today that the 2015 Potawatomi Cup has grown to five events and $50,000 in total bonus money for Tour players. The Potawatomi Cup is an incentive based point system where players have a chance to win bonus money at five events sponsored by Potawatomi nation tribes.

 

A total of $8,800 will be awarded at all five tournaments. The player that wins the overall Potawatomi Cup will earn a $6,000 bonus on top of the money she has earned through the course of the five events.

 

The five Potawatomi Cup tournaments are the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship in Battle Creek, Mich. (June 5-7), the Four Winds Invitational in South Bend, Ind. (June 19-21), the Island Resort Championship in Harris, Mich. (June 26-28), the PHC Classic in Milwaukee, Wisc. (July 31-August 2) and the Prairie Band Casino & Resort Charity Classic in Mayetta, Kan. (September 11-13).

 

The top six finishers at each Potawatomi Cup event will earn bonus money. The payout for each tournament is as follows: first place – $3,000, second place – $2,500, third place – $1,500, fourth place – $1,000, fifth place – $500 and sixth place – $300.

 

“This is the second year of the Potawatomi Cup, but the fifth year we’ve partnered with a Potawatomi Nation Tribe, going back to 2010 when we first started our relationship with the Hannahville Indian Community at the Island Resort Casino Championship,” said Symetra Tour Chief Business Officer, Mike Nichols. “Now with five Potawatomi Nations participating, both the prestige and prize money for the Potawatomi Cup have continued to grow.  The Potawatomi Cup adds extra intrigue for our fans and added incentive for our players to try and climb the leaderboard to win.”

 

The winner of each Potawatomi Cup event with earn 500 points and be presented with a $3,000 check and a Potawatomi Cup trophy in addition to the check and trophy for winning for the event.
