Sylvana B. Levier-Jessepe was named the 2011 We-Ta-Se princess at the veteran’s pow-wow last Saturday night. In the photo above, taken last April, during the Student Awards Banquet she was reigning as the 2009-2010 Prairie Band Princess.
In related news, Frank Shopteese, We-Ta-Se senior liaison, reports that around 500 people attended the pow-wow held at the 4 H building in Holton, Kansas. Raffle prize winners were: Flute-Jan Hubbard; Pendleton blanket-Martin Hale; $150 in gas-John Levier; $300 in gas-Dolly Richards and $1,000 in cash-Connie Smith.
