Personnel from the Tribal Police Department, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Holton and Hoyt Police Departments, Kansas Highway Patrol, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs are cooperating with the overall goal of locating impaired drivers.

Drivers will be stopped and those suspected of driving under the influence will be given brief field sobriety tests.  According to a news release from the Prairie Band Potawatomi Police Department, efforts will be made to NOT severely interrupt traffic flow.

The goal of the program is to increase the detection of impaired drivers, prevent accidents and or fatalities, and to educate the public about the dangers of driving impaired.
