MAYETTA: The Royal Valley Native American Singers and Dancers traveled to Bartlesville, Oklahoma last week where they won the Battle of the Plains championship. This is the seventh year the group has won the championship and many of the dancers placed in their respective categories. Anita Evans and Connie Peters, teachers in the Royal Valley School District, are sponsors for the group which is also supported by the Prairie Band Boys & Girls Club and parents and members of the Prairie Band Potawatomi community.
