MAYETTA: A memorial service was held yesterday for Tribal Police Officer Steve Cook who died on February 27.
A large crowd gathered to remember Steve Cook who was a police officer and tribal member. Several members of his family also traveled from Keshena, Wisconsin to attend the ceremony that was held at the Veterans Memorial.
In the photo, saluting from left to right are, Steve Ortiz, PBPN tribal chairman, Michael Cook, the father of Steve Cook, and Mike Boswell, chief of the tribal police department. Other individuals in the photograph are members of the We-Ta-Se American Legion Post.
Members of the Tribal Police Department raised the American flag during the ceremony.
We-Ta-Se members with Steve Cook’s parents Michael and Kay Cook. Steve Cook served in the Marines and was a We-Ta-Se member.
Tribal member Rory Lange played taps during the ceremony.
