Prairie Band Casino & Resort Charity Classic presented by Toyota Invites Community to Support Tournament

Symetra Tour Event Has Opportunities for Area Residents and Businesses to Get Involved

(Mayetta, KS) – When 144 professional women golfers from 20 countries descend on Northeast Kansas the first week of September, tournament officials promise opportunities to get up close to the Symetra Tour pros and watch competitive professional golf September 5-7 at Firekeeper Golf Course.

“It is going to be an amazing week with opportunities for businesses and local residents to support the tournament and its two designated charities – The Boys and Girls Club of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and The Folds of Honor Foundation,” said Dave Garcia, tournament director.

The first year tournament has several ways for area residents and businesses to take part.

Volunteers can donate their time for one or more days during the event beginning on Friday morning and serve as a greeter, cart driver, driving range assistant, parking management, leaderboards, marshals, scoring tent assistants, and runners. For a $35 fee, volunteers receive uniforms (tournament polo shirt and either a cap or visor), lunch, two single day admission tickets to the event, and a round of golf at Firekeeper Golf Course for their service. People interested in volunteering can sign up on-line or download a form to fill out at www.FirekeeperGolf.com.

Members of the business community and individuals have the opportunity to purchase a team in the pro-am on Wednesday and Thursday September 3-4 which includes 3 spots to play with a Symetra Tour player, and a tee gift, tickets to the event and a pair of tickets to attend the Meet the Pros Party at the Prairie Band Casino & Resort on Wednesday evening for each player. In addition, companies can join Toyota and Visit Topeka in supporting the event through sponsorship which provides branding and hospitality opportunities. To reserve a pro-am three-some or for sponsorship information, call Chele Kuhn at 785-966-7742.

Finally, fans may attend one or more days of the tournament. Tickets to the Prairie Band Casino & Resort Charity Classic presented by Toyota are $10 for adults and free for children 16 and under and will be available at Firekeeper Golf Course on event days with free parking.
