Kassie James Selected as American Indian College Fund Student of the Year

MAYETTA:  Haskell Indian Nations Univeristy (HINU) announced today that PBPN member Kassie James, a fourth-year student, has been selected as the American Indian College Fund Student of the Year.

James is pursuing a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Indigenous and American Indian Studies and plans to graduate in May.  After graduating she plans to pursue an advanced degree in Social Work.

James was selected for the honor along with HINU student Bobby Crow Feather (Standing Rock Sioux) who was selected as a Coca-Cola First Generation Scholar.  Both recipients will be honored at the American Indian College Fund/Coca Cola First Generation Scholars Annual Banquet in Billings, Montana on March 16.
