January is National Radon Action Month

January 06, 2015 –

MAYETTA:  January is National Radon Action Month and Billie Toleldo, Environmental Technician for the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation, wants people to become aware of the risks associated with radon exposure.  Following tobacco use radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer and is a source that individuals don’t willingly intake so learning to become safe about radon is important.

Below is some information about radon and its effects and contact information for the PBP Division of Planning and Environmental Protection on how to test for the gas.
