Governor’s Native American Liaison Chris Howell Visits PBPN

Tribal Council met today with Chris Howell, Kansas Native American Tribal Liaison, who took a tour of the common land and lunched at the casino. Howell is a member of the Pawnee Nation and was appointed to the position about three weeks ago by Kansas Governor Sam Brownback.

Howell also visited the Tribal Police Department and was taken on a tour of that facility by Rebekah Jones.  Jones is the office manager and tribal victims assistance program coordinator.

Howell was invited to the quarterly vocational rehabilitation luncheon at the casino, and was photographed, left to right, with Jeanie Combs, Audrey Schremmer-Philip, and Morris Taylor.  Combs and Philip are with 3Rivers Inc., an independent living organization  that has an office at the Potawatomi Health Center, and Taylor is the director of  vocational rehabilitation services that is housed in the Social Services Department at the heatlh center.
