Rose Patterson Obituary


OLALLA, WA – Rose (Posie) Marjorie (Pahmahmie) Patterson, 82, of Olalla, Washington passed away with loved ones at home on April 28, 2021. She was born on March 20, 1939 in Mayetta, Kansas. She was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. The daughter of Alice Wahquahboshkuk and William Pahmahmie.

She grew up in Mayetta and Topeka. She started her career as a Secretary at Indian Health Service and retired as an Administrative Supervisor in Seattle, WA. She was an entrepreneur at heart and always had new ideas to start businesses. She enjoyed spending time with family and going on car rides while listening to Frank Sinatra. She loved looking at the night sky for stars and planets, and enjoyed watching the rabbits and birds on her property. She never lost her sense of humor, even at the very end. She will be greatly missed. We will love her forever and always.

She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Mark W. Patterson and a loving mother to surviving son, Tony Wabaunsee and to surviving daughters Leslie Hollandsworth and Gayle Wabaunsee. She is survived by her mother-in-law Shirley Patterson, brother William (Bill) Eteeyan, Jr. and sister Geraldine Eteeyan. She loved her grandchildren Tristin Davis, Kathern Davis, Nicole Wabaunsee, Arlene Harrison, Roxanne Harrison, Lucas (pewamo) Kitchkommie, Tommyrose Wabaunsee and great-grandchildren Johnathan Harry, Rosanna (misak) Harrison, Emery David Negonsott, Trudell Negonsott, Samantha Smith, Nevaeh Smith and great-great grandchildren Rossley Jessepe and Kaia Kitchkommie.

She was preceded in death by her beloved sister Pearl Pahmahmie and precious sons David Harrison, Robert Harrison, and Victor Wabaunsee.

Arrangements were under the direction of Edwards Memorial, University Place, WA.
