Ralph “Sonny” Martinez
TOPEKA-Ralph “Sonny” Martinez, 51, of Topeka, KS passed away April 10, 2008 at his home in Topeka. He was born November 9, 1956 in Topeka, KS the son of Logie R. and Zelda I. Mitchell Martinez.
He graduated from TopekaHigh School and had attended HaskellUniversity. He was a nurses aide for KNI in Topeka and he worked for Prairie Band Casino in the laundry department. He attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Topeka, he was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church of Mayetta, KS and a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.
Survivors include his parents Logie and Zelda Martinez of Topeka, KS; 2 sisters, Laura Thackery and Shelia Fitzgerald both of Topeka, KS and a brother Manuel Martinez of Topeka, KS.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., April 14, 2008 at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Mayetta, KS. Burial will be in the ShipsheeCemetery. Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening with visitation to follow at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
