Margaret B. Lockman
March 15, 1954 – May 19, 2023

Margaret B. Lockman, Kee-wad-no-qweh, affectionately known as Marge, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after a short battle with a glioblastoma on May 19, 2023, in her hometown of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.

Services were held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 23 until the time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Marge was born on March 15, 1954, in Wisconsin Rapids to Roy Sr. and Nellie (Young) Arndt. She was a proud graduate of Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids, class of 1972. She was an enrolled tribal member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. Following her education, Marge dedicated 32 years of her life working in the Paperboard Products Division of Consolidated Papers Inc. in Wisconsin Rapids, where she built a strong work ethic and developed lasting friendships with her colleagues.

Marge married Randy Lockman on May 5, 1979 and together they welcomed three children: Sarah, Randy, and Michael. The marriage later ended in divorce.

A lover of nature, Marge found immense joy in feeding the birds and watching the variety she attracted to her feeders. She appreciated the abundance of wildlife that frequented her backyard, including turkeys, deer, geese, and ducks. Her love for the beauty of the outdoors was contagious, and she often shared her excitement with her friends and family.

Marge’s number one love in life, however, was her grandchildren. She lived for them, always making an effort to be present in their lives and share special moments with them. Her love for her grandchildren was evident in the way she spoke about them and the memories they created together. Marge’s love for her family extended beyond her grandchildren, as she cherished her relationships with her siblings, nieces, and nephews.

In her free time, Marge enjoyed going to the casino, where she found excitement and camaraderie with fellow patrons. Her love for gift wrapping was well-known among her friends and family, and she could always make any present look special. With her creative touch, Marge also loved turning birthday cards into glitter bombs, adding a touch of sparkle and surprise to the celebrations of her loved ones.

Marge’s life will be celebrated by those who remember her fondly. She leaves behind memories that will live on in forever our hearts.

Marge is survived by her son, Randy (Miranda) Lockman Jr. of Wisconsin Rapids; daughter, Sarah Lockman (Anson White Eagle) of Wisconsin Rapids; grandchildren: Avery, Allius, Aric, Aidan, Christiana, Caden, Trevor, Sandra, and Isabelle; siblings: Joanne Arndt of Wisconsin Rapids, Laurie (Duke) Ross of Bancroft, Roy (Rosann) Arndt Jr. of Wisconsin Rapids, and Lawrence (Julie) Arndt of Nekoosa; brother-in-law, Victor Bertotto of Wisconsin Rapids; sister-in-law, Barbara Arndt of Nekoosa; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marge will be missed by her cherished dog Kooper who was at her side through the very end, just as he was for her son Michael.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Lockman; sisters: Linda Bertotto and Ruth Ann Arndt; brother, Harlan “Butch” Arndt; sister in law Rose Porter; niece, Shelly Keith; and nephew, Mark Hesso.
