Katherine (Winnie-Guy) was born in Douglas County Kansas July 21, 1941, the daughter of Claude and Minnie Myers of Lecompton, KS. Katherine (Gish-ko-quah) was a proud member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation located near Mayetta, KS. She graduated from Lecompton High School in 1960 and married John D. Flood of Mt. Morris in Lecompton, KS in 1962.

Katherine attended North End Baptist Church in Mt. Morris. She made friends easily and loved them all but not as much as she loved and doled over her grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.

She liked to spend time at Old Orchard Campground with family and friends and was a super customer of K-mart, Wal-mart, and all rummage sales along the way. She liked reading, walking, and visiting friends and neighbors at the picnic table. Katherine was just a plain good ol country girl that never forgot from where she came. She loved her family and friends where ever they may be. Special thank you to Dr. Peter Moody and his staff for their many years of kindness.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son Scott (Amy) of Virginia Beach, Va., daughter and best friend Jo Lynn (Mike) Allen of Mt. Morris, five grandchildren, Jeremy (Kaye) Flood, Anna (Samuel) Gilbertson, Chad Flood, Jake Allen, Paige Allen; great-grandchildren, Westin Flood, Dace Flood, Graham Gilbertson, Walker Gilbertson. Sisters Mary Rose Manis of Topeka, Ks, Regina Andrew of Stull, Ks and a brother, Claude of Topeka, Ks. She is also survived by Brother-in-law, Jim Oldham of Lecompton KS, Sister-in-law Linda Salter of Mt. Morris. Katherine had many friends, nephews, and nieces. Katherine has joined her husband, parents, infant brother Jerome, sister Claudette (Teenie) Oldham, Brother-in-law Melvin Manis, Brother-in-law Floyd (Red) Andrew, nephew Jerry Oldham, and special friend Polly Carlile in God’s Heavenly Kingdom.
