Jennie Whitepigeon Rickert Wicker
July 12, 1931 – July 9, 2023

Mrs. Jennie Whitepigeon Rickert Wicker, aged 91, peacefully fell asleep in Jesus and eternal rest at home on Sunday, July 9, 2023 after a courageous fight with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Levi and Ellen Whitepigeon; husbands, James C. Rickert and Carl E. Wicker; sisters, Delores Whitepigeon, Lorraine Bessemer, Vivian Whitepigeon, and Norma Tolsma; brothers, Levi Whitepigeon, Jr. and James Whitepigeon; sons, Garrett J. Rickert and Dennis J. Rickert; son-in-law, Michael Bloom; granddaughter, Caitlyn Elizabeth Bloom; grandson, Chad Michael Rickert; and great-grandson, Michael Levi Rickert.

A devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Jennie was a member of the Apostolic Faith Church, a woman who lived her faith the vast majority of her life.
Jennie was a proud tribal citizen of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation, located in Mayetta, Kansas.

Surviving are her children, Dr. Jessica Rickert (William Strait), James L. Rickert, Levi (Sheri) Rickert, Deborah Bloom and Nancy (David) Krogmann; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Marlene Wade, Ruth (Robert) Carlton, and Yvonne Whitepigeon; several nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to daughters Deborah and Nancy who provided her with loving personal care for the last years of her life. The family would also like to thank the staff of Faith Hospice for their dedicated service and care provided.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 14 at Apostolic Faith Church, Grand Rapids, MI, with Rev. Dorian Richardson officiating. Burial was held at Salem Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends met the family Thursday at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, Kentwood, MI, and on Friday at the church prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Aenon Bible College.
