Byron Darnall Obituary

MAYETTA, KS – Byron J. “B.J.” “Ti Kẽ Si” Darnall, 68, of Mayetta, KS passed away Friday, September 25, 2020, at Stormont Vail Hospital. He was born October 17, 1951, in Pawnee, OK, the son of Garnett D. Potts and Gladys Cadue Potts.

B.J. attended schools in Sedan, Kan. and served in the United States Navy. He had lived on the Potawatomi Common Land for over 25 years. He retired from PBPN Road and Bridge.
B.J. was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and We Ta Se Post #410.

Survivors include his son, James Minnick of Muncie, IN; twin brother, Myron “Jim” Potts and brother, Benny J. Potts both of Mayetta, KS; 2 sisters, Alice Potts and Rose Potts both of Mayetta, KS; 5 half-sisters, Micki Martinez and Evie Hopkins both of Mayetta, KS, Loretta Cashman of Topeka, KS, Lola Cashman of Soldier, KS and Ruth Freeman of Sedan, KS; 4 granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a half-brother, Terry Woodruff.

Family will greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday evening, September 28, 2020, at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Wake and dinner will be Tuesday evening at the Potts Homeplace-13862 O.
