Barbara Ann Green

Barbara Ann Green, 65, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away on October 21, 2008 at the Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born on April 10, 1943 in Topeka, Kansas the daughter of William and Alice Wahquahboshkuk Eteeyan. Barbara was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Tribe. Most of her life she worked as a housekeeper in Topeka, Kansas. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed pow-wows, cooking, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. In 1966 she married Gerald Green in Miami, Oklahoma. Barbara is survived by her husband, Gerald, and great granddaughter, Sequoia Harlan of the home; three sons, Roger Eteeyan of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Steve Dahlsten of Palmer, Iowa and Frank Dahlsten of Dakota City, Iowa; three daughters, Christine Wishteyah of the home, Hildreth Green and Nicole Parker both of Oklahoma City; fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, JoAnna & Major Yellowhair, Richard, Jamie & Jennifer Parker, Dionne & Tab Harlan, Robert Wishteyah, Zack, Megan, Jenna, Jael, John, Josh, Justen, James, Vivien, Dionne, Cornell and Jordon; sister Geraldine Eteeyan of Kansas City, Kansas; two brothers, Bill Eteeyan of St. Joseph, Missouri and John Eteeyan of Topeka, Kansas; half sister, Rose of Seattle, Washington and very special friend Mary Newton of Omaha, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Betty Eteeyan and a granddaughter, Michelle Jane Harlan. A prayer service will be held at the Kickapoo Community Building on the Kickapoo Reservation at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2008. Burial will be on Saturday at the Green Cemetery on the Kickapoo Reservation. The Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
