Election Notices of Gaming Commission and Ethics Commission Seats Being Mailed

MAYETTA:  The Member Services Department is in the process of mailing out information to tribal members about the 2009 Gaming Commission election and Ethics Commission election being scheduled for February 25.

Two seats on the Gaming Commission and two seats on the Ethics Commission are available.  Individuals may file for candidacy from November 3 to November 14 in the Member Services Department located in the Government Center.  It should be noted that elections, enrollment, and the per capita offices have recently merged and are located in an office suite next to the Tribal Council offices.

The term of office for the Gaming Commission seats is four years.  The term of office for Ethics Commissioner #2 and Ethics Commissioner #3 is two years.  In order to become a candidate,  indiividuals must file a declaration of candidacy form, photograph and non-refundable filing fee.  There are other requirements for becoming a qualified candidate listed on each of the notices that members will receive in the mail.
