The primary goal of this survey is to understand the Knowledge, Attitudes, Beliefs, and Behaviors of Native people surrounding the COVID-19 Pandemic. All survey information is anonymous and will not be tied to anyone or any specific tribe.
The survey is led by Dr. Christine M. Daley at the Lehigh University College of Health and Institute for Indigenous Studies. Your participation is voluntary.
If you choose to participate, please complete the online survey (link listed below). The survey includes the following topics: demographic information about you, information about your exposure to COVID-19 and if you worked in a situation that put you at greater risk for the virus, sources of information on COVID-19 and your trust of different sources, your knowledge about the virus, your attitudes and beliefs about the virus and possible ways to prevent it, your thoughts on the preparedness of the world and your community for the pandemic, your personal preventive behaviors, and the impact of the pandemic on you in different ways (e.g. financial, interactions with others, your feelings, etc.) and on your community. You may skip any questions that you are uncomfortable answering.
The survey may take between 30 and 40 minutes to complete. The survey will not include your name or any identifying information. All of your responses will be kept confidential and never attached to your name. Based on your answers to the survey questions, you may be asked if you would like to participate in a follow-up interview at the end of the survey. If you would like to participate in a follow-up interview, you will be asked to provide your name and contact information in a separate survey. This information will never be attached to your survey responses and is collected and stored separately on a secure server.
You must be 18 or older to participate in this survey and must be an American Indian person. You may only complete this survey once. If you choose to participate, you will receive a $25 gift card to one of five options (amazon.com, Best Buy, Lowe’s, Starbucks, or Subway). You will receive your gift card via email within one week after participation. In order to give you the gift card, we will have to collect your name and an email address. This information is collected in a separate survey and will never be attached to your survey responses; it is collected and stored separately on a secure server.
