Charitable Contributions Ceremony Held

The Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation (PBPN) presented checks totaling $81,500 at a Charitable Contributions ceremony April 11 at 11 a.m. at the Prairie Band Casino & Resort.

Members from the PBPN Charitable Contributions Committee and Tribal Council were on hand to deliver the checks to various organizations.

Some of the Topeka groups receiving donations included the Arthritis Foundation ($10,0000), the American Heart Association ($6,000), TDC Learning Centers, Inc ($5,000), Family Guidance Center ($5,000), YWCA ($5,000), and Our Lady of Guadalupe Church ($5,000). Several other groups from the Topeka area and surrounding region also received checks at the ceremony. For a complete list of donations click here.

The Charitable Contributions Committee is comprised of six tribal members, who along Tribal Council selected 24 various organizations to receive the quarterly distributions. Areas that are focused on when determining the distribution of funds include groups involved in education, health and community services, environmental protection and preservation, and religious organizations that have an impact on the spiritual wellness and quality of life for all.
