Tifany Ann Smalley Whitefish – Gaming Commissioner Candidate

My name is Tifany Whitefish, and my Indian name is Ttehkwissek. I am a dedicated and dynamic professional with over 28 years of experience in customer service, team leadership, and operations management across the telecommunications and gaming industries.

Currently, I proudly serve as a Slot Assistant Shift Manager at Prairie Band Casino & Resort, where I play a critical role in supervising slot floor operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a welcoming, guest-centered environment.

Born in Holton, Kansas, and raised on the Prairie Band Potawatomi Reservation, I later moved to Topeka as a young adult to raise my family and build a career with AT&T. Over 28 years, I established a strong foundation in customer support, billing, and service provisioning, earning a reputation for excellence in handling complex customer issues, leading interim management teams, and delivering top-tier service. My commitment to professionalism and customer care earned me multiple accolades, including AT&T’s prestigious Service Excellence Award and recognition as a Top Sales Producer.

After retiring from AT&T, I returned to the Reservation to begin a new chapter with Prairie Band Casino & Resort. Transitioning into the gaming and hospitality industry allowed me to seamlessly transfer my strengths in communication, compliance, and operations into casino management. In my current role, I lead by example—training staff, enhancing guest experiences, and upholding the highest standards of integrity, performance, and alignment with Tribal regulations and values.

I come from a proud family lineage: I am the daughter of Emily Aitkens, granddaughter of Julia Barber, great-granddaughter of Evelyn Whitefish Blakeslee, and great-great-granddaughter of Josephine Shobney, who was married to Dabash Whitefish. These strong family roots have instilled in me the values of hard work, compassion, community service, and cultural pride.

Outside of my professional life, I am a proud mother of four children and grandmother to twelve grandchildren, who are my greatest joy. I enjoy spending time with my grandkids, creating arts and crafts, hiking, bike riding, swimming, kayaking, and embracing the outdoors whenever possible. I am an adventurer at heart and love to travel, always seeking new experiences with positivity and curiosity.

Throughout my career and personal life, I have continuously strived to build a legacy grounded in resilience, service, and dedication—hoping to inspire those around me both personally and professionally.

I am respectfully asking for your support and vote in the upcoming election for Gaming Commissioner Seat #2. Thank you in advance for your trust and encouragement.
