MAYETTA: The Harvesters Rural Mobile Food Pantry, that normally comes to the community building on 158 Road on the reservation the first Friday of each month, has been canceled for tomorrow, Feb. 4.
The Harvesters truck will be in Holton, however, at the 4-H community building from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Inclement weather conditions earlier in the week has forced fewer distributions this month.
The Harvesters Community Food Network has partnered with the Jackson County Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry in bringing produce and other food to the community. Food is distributed from the truck into cars and the program is open to the general public. Harvesters serves 26 counties in northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri.
The Jackson County Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry is also available to help residents of Jackson County. Residents are asked to bring a valid ID and utility bill. The office is located at 5th and Iowa streets and hours of operation are Monday-8 a.m.- noon, Tuesday-5 p.m. -7 p.m. and Wednesday and Friday -5 p.m. -7 p.m.
