Barbara (Wahweotten) “Wah-weyah- keesh-ko-quah” Evans – Gaming Commissioner Candidate

It is my privilege to introduce myself. I am Barbara (Wahweotten) (Wah-weyah-
keesh-ko-quah) Evans. I am the daughter of Vernon Wahweotten and
Rosemary (Wahweotten) Masquat. My wonderful children are Shayla (Robert)
Lecompte, Shane (Jackie) Catron and Shawna (Ty) Williams. I also have 8
amazing grandchildren. I was born and raised on the Prairie Band
Potawatomi Reservation.

I am currently employed by the Gaming Commission as a Gaming Inspector
for 27 years now and I am extremely proud of that. My experience as a
Gaming Inspector has equipped me with a solid understanding of upholding
casino policies and procedures, and the capacity to listen and engage with
those we represent in the Tribal Gaming industry. Additionally, I excel in
administration, demonstrating strong organizational skills, customer service,
and managing multiple priorities with integrity, dedication and resilience. My
job functions afford me the insight to the Tribal/State Compact, MICS-Minimum
Internal Control Standards, NIGC-National Indian Gaming Controls,
ICS-Internal Control Standards, PBP Law and Order to name a few with some
standard always changing. If elected, I will keep up with these changes so the
Gaming Commission can make sound decisions that contribute to the gaming
functions.

I want to acknowledge the important and valuable work our current and past
leadership has accomplished. Their efforts laid a strong foundation for the
Tribe. With fresh perspectives and renewed energy, we can build upon and
effectively tackle the challenges that lie ahead. I am truly honored and take
pride in what our Tribe has built, leading the way in the gaming industry, with
our owned and operated casino and resort. I firmly believe leadership thrives
on constructive dialogue and a productive resolution to challenges.

I am asking for your vote for Gaming Commissioner, seat #2. Thank you for
your time.

Barbara Evans
