Prairie Band Casino
The Prairie Band Potawatomi Casino and Resort is owned and operated by the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. The casino entertainment complex encompasses approximately 63,000 square feet, and features 1027 slot machines, 30 table games (blackjack, 21+3, three card poker, pai gow poker, mini baccarat, Mississippi stud poker, roulette, craps, Let-It-Ride, texas hold’em and seven card stud), a Village Garden Buffet, Gift Shop, Buffalo Grill, and the Three Fires Steakhouse. Adjoining the facility is a 297-room hotel with a beautiful courtyard and two relaxing hot tubs and convention center which includes 1,000, 4,000, 8,000 or 12,000 sq. ft. meeting rooms available with full catering and banquet facilities.
Prairie Band Casino is located in the southeastern quadrant of the reservation at the junction of Highway 75 and Road 150. The casino is approximately 15 miles north of Topeka, Kansas.
The Casino employs approximately 1000 and operates 24 hours a day. Approximately 20% of jobs are filled by nation members and $35 million in annual wages are paid ($23 million direct wages, $12 million indirect wages).
The nation uses revenue to repurchase national lands within reservation boundaries, providing national and community employment, improving infrastructure, strengthening national programs, funding education, and improving the quality of life for all members of the nation.
The goal has been to generate enough money to compensate for the inequalities of the past. It is a time to not forget the past but to build upon it, providing a solid foundation for the reservation's economic healing, allowing Potawatomi children to have a bright future.
The Prairie Band Potawatomi work closely with surrounding communities to create jobs and spurring economic development throughout the region.
