Phraselator Project

The Language Department has acquired a Phraselator that converts spoken words into Potawatomi by computer. Through training from the developer, the staff has learned how to use the equipment. The Language team including fluent speaker Cecilia “Meeks” Jackson completed the training and are utilizing the Phraselator teaching tool in their daily activities in the revitalization of the Potawatomi Language. Firing Range

In 2007, the Tribal Police Department in conjunction with the Tribal Road and Bridge Program developed a firing range for shooting practice and qualifications. The Range consists of a 50 yard pistol range and a 200 yard rifle range. Learn More

We are pleased to announce that the tribe has formed the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation Athletic Commission. The purpose of the Athletic Commission is to offer and sanction both professional and amateur sport activities including boxing and other athletic events on the reservation. Learn More

Road Reconstruction, Snows Church Road

A one and a half mile project was added to the five year Road Plan to pave the road to Our Lady of the SnowsChurch from 158 road to the church. Design and acquiring right of way began in late 2006; utility relocation of phone, water and electric lines began in mid 2007. Learn More

Pedestrian & Bike Trail Phase II & III

The construction of the non motorized Pedestrian / Bike Trail began as soon as the notice to proceed was signed by the Southern Plains Region BIA Office, November 8, 2006. The four Pedestrian Bridges within the Park were completed as was several hundred feet of sub-base earth compaction before the 2006 freeze came. Learn More
